Saturday Small Change: Walk 30 minutes Daily
This small change may take a bit more time than the others, but it is soooooooooo (x a million) important. Walking is the best exercise EVER! No it won’t make you look like a body builder but it can (and will) help you maintain a healthy weight, improve your balance and coordination, strengthen your bones, improve your mood and so much much much more. I really can not stress this enough. If you do nothing else- walk. Walk everywhere. Walk daily. Walk all the time.
At a bare minimum, you should be walking 30 minutes daily.
Now this doesn’t mean 30 minutes all at one time, you can break it up into 10 minute chunks. 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes at lunch, 10 minutes after dinner. Whatever works for your schedule.
If 30 minutes out of the gate is too hard to start with, try 10. Just 10 minutes every day. Then after a few weeks, add another 10. You’ll be amazed at how you start craving the walks.
Oh yeah- and grab a buddy. Walks are a great healthy way to get in some quality time with your friends and family. Maybe even organize a nightly walk for your family, or heck, your neighborhood! How great would that be to get with your neighbors each evening for a 30 minute walk. That would be the best neighborhood ever! 🙂
