Workout Wednesday: Run This Way
Hello All!!! I know I know… it’s Thursday… not Wednesday… silly how time moves like that. 🙂
This simple speed workout is a great way to add some variety to your cardio routine. Any type of speed work is great for building strength and endurance, plus it makes your body move more efficiently. The more you do it, the more benefits you reap. Make sure to never do back to back intense speed sessions though. It is a higher intensity workout (than say an easy 45 min jog) so you need to give your body time to recover. Always follow speed sessions (or hill repeats or long runs) with an easier workout the next day.
For low-impact you can also do this as a walking workout. Just make sure to really pick up the pace on those pickups. I want your heart pounding.
